Mo’s Greyhound
This one’s all about restraint—except for the pour. Our founder, Monelle, makes them every time she’s out at the beach. Always fresh grapefruit, always vodka, and always in the biggest glass she can find. It’s bright, bracing, and deeply unfussy. No garnish, no sugar, no rim—just crisp citrus and cold spirits, poured long over ice.
The Greyhound is old-school in the best way. It doesn’t try to impress, but it always satisfies. Clean lines, sharp flavor, and a finish that tastes like sun on skin and salt in the air.
Recipe
-
2 oz vodka
-
4 oz fresh grapefruit juice
Pour over ice in a tall glass and stir. Serve without garnish. The bigger the glass, the better.
A note: The original Greyhound was made with gin, first showing up in the 1930s. Vodka became the standard in the ‘50s, but the drink’s simplicity never changed. Add a salted rim and it’s technically a Salty Dog—but Monelle doesn’t bother.
When we serve it: Beach weekends, breezy lunches, or backyard afternoons. It’s the house favorite for any warm-weather hosting—especially when Monelle’s in charge.
